Pounamu
POUNAMU is a treasured and trusted green stone that is found only in the South Island of New Zealand, not far from the vineyard where this wine is grown.
To New Zealanders POUNAMU is a jewel and considered a symbol of peace. It is often referred to as being the ‘link between heaven and earth, the stars and the water’ –which are also key environmental elements for grape-growing.
Globally, New Zealanders present POUNAMU as a traditional gift -exchanged in a celebration of goodwill and at times of agreement –just in the way we raise glasses of wine to honour special moments.
The wines of POUNAMU are balanced, elegant and are made with integrity by Eveline Fraser, former head winemaker at the famed Cloudy Bay.
